Norwegian cellist and composer Maja Bugge returns to LJF with SORTLAND, a new collaboration with pianist Dave Evans and film-maker Adam York Gregory.

SORTLAND is a meditative portrait of Maja’s home city, the ‘blue town’ situated 68 degrees north above the arctic circle. The work fuses evocative melodies, riffs and grooves inspired by this environment with a specially made backdrop of image and video. Together, these elements form a playful and gentle audio-visual homage to place, sound and memory.

We are excited to be presenting this show in Moor Space, which is a new venue for us.
