Artists at Lancaster Jazz Festival

Lancaster Jazz Festival has a track record of promoting cutting-edge contemporary jazz and we aim to provide spaces for the musicians who make it to produce their best work.

Our relationships with artists is at the heart of what we do at the Lancaster Jazz Festival and we host training and networking events at the festival and ad-hoc focus groups throughout the year.

We usually offer accommodation for artists playing the festival and encourage the ‘hang’ that this can facilitate, giving artists the chance to meet and check out each other’s projects.

Want to play the festival?

The 2026 Lancaster Jazz Festival takes place from 9th – 13th September 2026, you can submit your music for consideration via our open programme submission form, linked below.  Lancaster Jazz Festival open programme is open to all artists without restriction.

At Lancaster Jazz Festival we want to promote brilliant musicians from the breadth of contemporary jazz. We are interested in promoting a diverse programme of events from around the UK, which includes new works, genre pushing acts, emerging artists and projects, and cross art form collaborations.

Lancaster Jazz Festival has a commitment to equity and inclusion which includes offering a platform for under represented groups in our industry.  We would like to represent more black, asian and global majority artists within our programme, and we encourage applications from artists from these backgrounds.
We work to proactively address accessibility in our venues and festival delivery, working collaboratively with our community and artists with additional access requirements. You can review our accessibility and safe spaces statement here.

International artists are welcome to apply, but due to financial and ecological reasons we would not consider an international artists for a one off show – we recommend exploring a wider UK tour, or grant funding to support your travel. Please let us know on the form if you have support for international touring.

Deadline for applications is the midnight Sunday 15th February 2026. We aim to be in touch with everyone who has applied by the middle of April.
