Lancaster Jazz Festival relies on the funding of our wonderful partners but also on the support of people like you, to showcase the best contemporary jazz from around the UK as well as great local and community talent. With your help we can continue to do our best work and grow the festival to ensure that year on year we bring you more ambitious gigs, support more emerging musicians and continue our work with the local community.

Your membership is a direct investment in Lancaster Jazz Festivals’ ethos that jazz should be accessible to all, regardless of socio-economic circumstances and it helps us to keep at least 50% of our events free with additional free innovation hub sessions.

Membership types
Gig
The Gig membership will cost £25 per year. These supporters will receive:
- our programme emailed to them in advance of the public launch
- at least four member newsletters per year
- a yearly member only merchandise reward
- your name on the thank you page of our website
Encore
The Encore membership will cost £50 per year. These supporters will receive:
- all the benefits of Gig membership
- two free tickets to the programme launch gig (usually held in June/July prior to the festival)
- your name on the thanks page of our digital and printed programme and website
Backstage
The Backstage membership will cost £100 per year. These supporters will receive:
- all the benefits of Gig membership
- all the benefits of Encore membership
- see the impact of your support with a member-only chance to input into festival decisions through feedback forums and member polls. An example of this might be to choose the poster or t-shirt design.
- one free t-shirt while stocks last during the festival (we can’t guarantee stock all year round – if there are none left you will get free t-shirt from the following year)
- your name in the thanks page of our programme and website
Key reward dates
You will receive all of your rewards within the 12 month period of your membership but after the dates below your reward will be valid at the next year’s festival.
- Join by 31 May and have your name added to the website.
- Join after this date and you will be featured in next year’s thanks.
- Join by 30 April and have your name printed in the programme.
- Join after this date and you will be featured in next year’s programme.
- Join by 31 May and get x2 free launch gig tickets for this year.
- Join after this date and you will get tickets to next year’s launch gig.
- Join by 31 August and have your reward posted to you in time for the festival.
- Join after this date and you can either pick your tote up from the festival or have it posted out afterwards
- Join during the festival and get x1 free t-shirt for this year (subject to availability).
- Join after this date and you will get next year’s t-shirt.
What about the old membership scheme?
We have now ended our previous membership scheme. After conducting a survey of current and potential members we found that the old scheme wasn’t serving our members or Lancaster Jazz Festival as well as we would have liked. So, we have devised this new scheme in order to allow people to support us at a variety of levels whilst offering additional rewards as a thank you.
If you have previously set up a standing order for the old membership scheme you can either leave it standing as a ‘donation’ or you can cancel it and if you would like to, join our new supporter membership.

How can I become a Lancaster Jazz Festival Supporter?
Join online 24/7 365 days a year or in person at one of our events.
How do I pay?
You can pay via our website using Paypal. You don’t need to have a PayPal account for this, you can checkout as a guest and pay by debit or credit card.
When does my membership expire?
Your membership lasts for 12 months from the date of purchase and then will automatically renew unless you decide to opt out, or to change your membership to a different tier. You can opt out of the renewal at any time during your 12 months and this will not impact on your current benefits.
What about the old membership scheme?
We’re grateful for the support of our existing members, but we have now ended our previous membership scheme. Am I guaranteed to get the tickets that I want by becoming a Supporter?
Although we cannot guarantee availability of tickets, by being a Member, you will receive the programme in advance.
Will I get a membership card?
To keep our costs and sustainability impact low, you will not receive a physical membership card.
Can I upgrade my membership tier?
You can upgrade your membership at the point of renewal. Unfortunately, you cannot upgrade your Membership mid-term.
What do I receive when I join?
When you join you will receive a confirmation email and receipt from PayPal. We will send you a welcome email, usually within 7 days. You will also receive your member-only merchandise in the post within 4 weeks, provided you have shared your full and correct address with us at the point of sign up on PayPal. These timings are only a guide and can take longer depending on the availability of our volunteers.
We can only send rewards, brochures and newsletters to those with valid contact information and with permission to receive marketing information by email and post. Other rewards are based on the tier you have chosen and will be available at specific times throughout the year. If you sign up during the festival this process may take a little longer.
